Joel Schumacher once said to me: “There are two kinds of people — metallic people and porous people.” By metallic he means those who have a hard shell, who reflect and deflect, who do not allow anyone or anything within. They are outward thinking. By porous he means people who absorb, who observe and contemplate, who receive people and experience, who are inward thinking. Francis is mostly metallic. So is Claire, but she has a porous side too. The coffee shop, the graveyard, the homeless man — these are attempts to dramatize her porous side. To reveal a side of Claire that is not logical or easily explained. That is open to empathy, randomness, and sensuality. What makes her so intriguing is the tension between this porous side and her more unforgiving, metallic side.

just so we’re clear, i use
as gender-neutral and affectionate names
don’t forget son
What am I forgetting dad
You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten me.
also “you guys” is entirely gender neutral to me
So here’s the deal:
I recently found myself with some new followers (Hi! Lovely to see you.) And you’re obviously here for a reason, so I’m not going to give you a tour of my blog, just know I have an about me tag, a personal tag, and a real life tag if you want to know my real life. :D
But with new followers come new expectations!! Specifically regarding triggers!!!
I try to tag fairly consistently, mostly because I want to be able to find things on my blog if there’s a specific post I want to go back to. This means I also tag things like specific animals, weapons, blood, violence, etc. But if anyone has a very specific phobia or trigger they need to avoid, please let me know!! While I’m not going to tag every post with every potential trigger that comes out of it, if there is a specific trigger that doesn’t fall under the common blanket of general unpleasantness (that blanket would include things like murder, rape, violence, gore, suicide, racism, sexism) I will definitely tag it for you as long as you tell me in my ask.
(Example: I have a weird phobia of pigeons, and images of pigeons just look really disgusting to me, so I blacklist any post that mentions or has pigeons in it. I haven’t asked another blog to do that yet, but I totally understand if anyone has an unusual request like that.)
